This series of lithographic prints transforms a campaign poster used at rallies by President Donald Trump. At these events, the campaign slogan "Promises Made" appears side-by-side with the phrase "Promises Kept." I drew and then etched the poster slogan on a stone and then printed it many times to create a set of varied prints. While slowly etching away the blue layer, I allowed the red line present in the design to slowly fill in, resulting in a completely red stone that obscures the original phrase. The focus of this project from the outset was on the repeating of Promises Made, Promises Made, questioning the role of truth and fanfare in politics.
