In part, this work is a reproduction at a larger scale of pamphlet containing samples. The original source was created by the Crown Roll Leaf company, containing ‘special effects’ foils used in commercial printing. Over the squares where the different types of foils were stamped, I’ve printed images of explosions from warfare, a very different type of special effect.
